SOPHOMORE (2012): Emerged as a leader on and off the field… Combines good mastery of offense with mental and physical toughness… Reached new level of tenacity during spring ball… Played at both left and right guard in fall 2012, splitting time with junior Logan Daves… Had 10 starts in 11 games played to earn second letter… Had 49 knockdowns on the year (regular season) with 11 vs. Chattanooga to win the belt trophy… Tied for team lead with nine knockdowns at Western Carolina as Eagles recorded the NCAA’s highest single-game rushing total of 2012 with 614 yards in that game… Effective member of offensive line that recorded four of the nation’s top six single-game rushing totals and won the NCAA Division I rushing title (399.4 ypg)… Played all but two snaps in Eagles’ triple-overtime win at Chattanooga… Earned a 3.50 for spring 2013 semester and for a spot on the University’s Dean’s List for GPAs of 3.5 or above… Posted a 3.75 GPA in fall 2012… Named to Georgia Southern Athletics Honor Roll for posting a 3.0 or better grade point average for the spring and fall 2012 semesters… Paid own expenses to travel to Honduras for alternative spring break trip and participate in volunteer service this past March… While in Honduras, helped build a school, worked on maintenance projects for an impoverished area and served as a mentor to children in a local orphanage.

REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2011): Played in 12 games with five starts... Started the final four games of the year including the entire FCS Playoff run at right guard... Helped the offense rack up 482 rushing yards in the playoff opener against Old Dominion (12/3).

FRESHMAN (2010): Redshirted.

PREP: Tabbed first-team All-Region 8-AAAAA as a junior and senior... First-team All-Gwinnett County as a junior and second-team selection as a senior... honorable mention all-state pick at offensive lineman for junior year as Peachtree Ridge finished 12-3 as runner-up in 5A... pre-season all-state selection by Atlanta Journal-Constitution for senior campaign... helped lead team to 10-3 mark and quarterfinals... member of the Lions offensive line that did not allow a sack over 28 games and two years... finished 10th in state weightlifting meet as a senior... Scholar-Athlete award winner... joins current Eagle Mitch Williford in coming from Peachtree Ridge... played for Coach Bill Ballard.

PERSONAL: Born February 13, 1992 to Todd and Mia McBurnett in Lawrenceville, Ga.... has a younger sister, Tiffany... would want a ticket to the Super Bowl if had the chance to go because he loves football... most treasured possession is his truck... names Eagle Creek as his favorite part of Georgia Southern lore.
