Biography

SOPHOMORE (2012): Missed spring practice recovering from injury, but projected to start in 2013 at one of the wide receiver positions… Immersed himself in playbook and film room over the last year to gain better understanding of the offense… Displays freakish ability to come down with the ball as evidenced by heart-stopping catches against Furman, Chattanooga and Appalachian State with appearances on ESPN SportsCenter’s Top Ten Plays of the Day and ESPNU… Has strongest hands on the team… Played in 14 games and earned second letter… Recorded most receiving yards with 343 (9 catches), averaging team-best 38.1 yards per catch… Had three touchdown receptions in 2012 and has four in his career, just one away from breaking into Eagles’ all-time list at fifth… Eagle quarterback Jerick McKinnon found him for 75-yard long touchdown at Furman, longest by Georgia Southern in 2012 and both a career-best pass and catch… Had catches in seven games with two each against Appalachian State and Howard with career-best two touchdowns on two receptions vs. Bison… First aerial score versus Bison was a 25-yard pass from Jerick McKinnon at the end of the first half… Grabbed 29-yard toss from Matt Dobson in the fourth quarter against Howard… Caught 15-yard reception, the longest of three in the passes in drive, from Ezayi Youyoute at The Citadel… Set up a 20-yard touchdown run by William Banks with 40-yard reception from Jerick McKinnon in first half of Appalachian State game… On the receiving end of a 47-yard pass from Jerick McKinnon that moved Eagles from their own five-yard line to Bears’ side of the field in 13-play scoring drive… Recorded knockdowns in all three playoff games and registered season-best three at Chattanooga.

FRESHMAN (2011): Appeared in 12 games... Finished third on the team with 220 receiving yards... Caught 12 passes and one touchdown... Averaged 18.3 yards per catch... Put the Eagles on top for good at Wofford (11/12) with 21 yard touchdown grab at the end of the first half... Posted a season-high 50 reception against Furman (10/15)... Caught two passes in each of the three FCS Playoff games... Made a 40 yard grab at Appalachian State (10/29)... Recorded his first career reception against Western Carolina (9/24)... Finished the year with two catches for 25 yards at North Dakota State (12/17).

PREP: Two-time first team All-State selection rewrote numerous Johnson County records with 185 career receptions for 3,050 yards and 40 touchdowns... His career receiving touchdowns total ranks fourth all-time in the state while his receiving yardage total is ninth ...Unanimous selection as Region 3-A Offensive Player of the Year... A three-time first team choice in the Heart of Georgia, Walker was honored as 2010 Player of the Year... Walker was an All-Region selection in 2008, 2009 and 2010 and first team All-Middle Georgia as a junior and senior... Led Trojans with 69 receptions for 1,187 yards and 18 touchdowns as a senior for a 17.2 yards per catch average... Receiving yards-per-game average (117.2) ranked second in the state and his receiving yards total for 2010 was good enough for fifth in the state... Combined with D.J. Rozier as the number-one tandem in receptions with 185... Johnson County finished season 11-1 in 2010 and number-six ranking from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and number-nine ranking from the Associated Press... Had 1,172 yards on 72 catches and 14 touchdowns as a junior... Top receiver for Trojans' as a sophomore with 34 catches for 560 yards and nine touchdowns... Walker also competed in track and field with region championships in the 110m Hurdles and Triple Jump (2009 and 2010)... Played for Head Coach Don Norton, a former Georgia Southern punter who played on two of the Eagles' national championship teams... Also a member of the basketball team, playing on the veasity team as a sophomore... Competed in the High Jump for Trojans' track and field team.
