STORYLINES

The Georgia Southern Eagles will play their final game in the regular season Tuesday at Jacksonville. Georgia Southern wrapped up the Southern Conference slate and played their final home games over the weekend against the Western Carolina Catamounts.
Tuesday's game will conclude the home and home series with the Dolphins. The Eagles won the first meeting in Statesboro 13-5 on April 1st.
GSU has won 9 of the last 10 meetings against Jacksonville and has won six-straight contests.
The Eagles pitching staff leads the league with a 3.07 ERA which ranks third best all-time in school history.
GSU has won six of their last eight games and both of their last two SoCon series.
Garrett Chapman is seeking to become the first freshman since 1984 to lead the team in batting average. Chapman currently is hitting a team-best .355.
The Eagles have three players from the state of Florida in Dalton Busby (Bradenton, Fla.), Evan Challenger (Mount Dora, Fla.) and Byron Yelverton (Ponte Vedra, Fla.).

Georgia Southern and Jacksonville have met 125 times since 1958. The Eagles hold a 67-58 edge in the all-time series after winning the first meeting this year 13-5 on April 1st.
The Eagles are 17-23 on the road in the series, but have won six-straight meetings against the Dolphins.
GSU has won nine of the last 10 meetings with the only loss coming in Jacksonville on March 29, 2011 in a 4-2 game.

GSU ranks in the top four in the conference in batting average (.289), slugging pct. (.431) and on-base percentage (.372).
The Eagles rank second in a number of offensive categories including runs (354), hits (528), doubles (98) and home runs (50).

Jacksonville has one player that hails from the state of Georgia in Cameron Gibson. Gibson played for Georgia Tech in 2012 before transferring to Chipola College in Florida. His hometown is Conyers, Ga.
