Georgia Southern Baseball Players Shine Across Summer Collegiate Leagues

STATESBORO – Georgia Southern baseball players continued their development this summer by competing in some of the nation's top collegiate summer leagues, earning all-star honors, collecting individual accolades and producing standout performances across the country.
Fourteen Eagles spent their summers competing in five different leagues, gaining valuable experience against elite competition ahead of the 2027 season.
Florida Collegiate Baseball League
The Eagles were well represented in the Florida Collegiate Baseball League, with both Kaden Thompson and St. Petersburg transfer Drew Pynes earning league All-Star selections.
Thompson appeared in 28 games for the Leesburg Lightning, batting .283 with 28 hits, 16 RBI and a .421 on-base percentage while representing the organization in the FCBL All-Star Game.
Pynes put together one of the league's strongest offensive summers with the Sanford River Rats, hitting .315 with 29 hits, 23 RBI, seven doubles and two home runs while posting an impressive .466 on-base percentage. He was also selected as an FCBL All-Star.
Salem transfer Brian Kendall also spent the summer with the Sanford River Rats' bullpen, continuing his development against league competition.
Georgia Southern had five players compete in the Coastal Plain League, highlighted by several impactful offensive performances.
Max Prozny drove in 30 runs, hit 11 doubles and two home runs during his 39-game stint with the Macon Bacon. His summer was highlighted by being named the league's Hitter of the Night after going 2-for-3 with a home run, double and six RBI against the HiToms.
Despite playing approximately half of the summer season, Ole Miss transfer Tate Sirmans made an immediate impact for the High Point-Thomasville HiToms, batting .252 with eight home runs, 20 RBI and a .491 slugging percentage in just 15 games.
Carter Blankenship reached base consistently for the Lexington County Blowfish, recording a .408 slugging while driving in 14 runs and drawing 18 walks in 23 contests.
Sammy Leis also competed with the Macon Bacon appearing in 26 games driving 16 runs and six doubles, while RHP Jax Lewis posted a 1.27 WHIP with 21 strikeouts across 21.0 innings over 11 appearances.
New England Collegiate Baseball League
The New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) featured four Eagles, including two league All-Stars.
Nico Senese earned NECBL All-Star honors after batting .290 with six home runs, 28 RBI and a .486 slugging percentage for the Keene Swamp Bats.
Indiana transfer TJ Schuyler joined Senese on the NECBL All-Star roster after hitting .311 with 28 hits and a .388 on-base percentage in 31 games.
Jack Myers turned in a strong summer with the Valley Blue Sox, batting .309 while reaching base at a .434 clip, and Wake Forest transfer Jackson Roper hit .302 with 26 hits and drawing 10 walks for Martha's Vineyard.
Valley Baseball League
RHP Jayden White made the most of his opportunities with the Strasburg Express, striking out 26 batters over 18.2 innings with a 1.93 ERA and 1.50 WHIP during the summer campaign - earning Second Team All-North honors.
Northwoods League/Appalachian League
Central Arizona transfer Christian Gross spent the summer in the bullpens of the Badlands Big Sticks of the Northwoods League and the Kingsport Axmen of the Appalachian League, continuing his development against collegiate competition.
Georgia Southern's strong representation across the country's premier collegiate summer leagues reflects the continued development of the Eagles' roster. Multiple all-star selections, individual awards and productive summers provide momentum as the Eagles prepare for the 2027 season.
