DECATUR, Ga. – The Georgia Southern baseball team lost a Sun Belt Conference series finale to the Georgia State Panthers, 16-5, on Sunday afternoon at the Georgia State Baseball Complex.
Georgia State (27-26, 14-13 SBC) put up three runs in the bottom of the third inning and two in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 5-0 lead before Georgia Southern (24-27, 14-13 SBC) responded in the top of the fifth frame. In that inning, the Eagles saw

Sam Blancato would get plunked with the bases-loaded to bring home
JD Kaiser, and a second wild pitch by the Georgia State pitcher would score
Jesse Sherrill, putting the Eagles within one, 5-4.
Georgia State would respond with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth inning to take a 6-4 lead, and then would score six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 12-4 lead.
JD Kaiser hit a solo homer down the right field line to make the score 12-5. In the bottom of the eighth inning, the Panthers would load the bases and Max Ryerson would knock a walk-off grand slam to end the game, 16-5.
