STATESBORO – Georgia Southern pitcher
Brady Pendley was named part of the CPL Select Team, earning the opportunity to compete against the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team starting on Saturday, June 29.

"I'm thrilled [for the opportunity]," Pendley said. "This is an opportunity you don't get very often. I was actually supposed to be done playing summer ball, but this was an opportunity that I couldn't pass up."

"I just want to go out there and see what I can do."

So far this summer, Pendley has been doing well for the Macon Bacon. He holds a 2.93 ERA with two saves in his seven appearances. In 15.1 innings, he has struck out 29 while only walking six. On June 18 against the Boone Bigfoots, Pendley had a performance for the ages, striking out 13 batters in just six innings, keeping the Bigfoots bats to just a .105 batting average. His performance saw him end the night with a WHIP of 0.50 and a K/9 of 19.5.

"I've been using the summer as a way to get back out there and throw to live hitters. I think I've bounced back really well and had a really good summer; all of my pitches have been working really well. It's been nice to get back and be able to throw against live batters."
