PREVIEW: Eagles End Four-Game Road Swing at Jacksonville

STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern baseball team will take on the Jacksonville Dolphins in a midweek game on Wednesday, May 8, in Jacksonville, Fla. This is the middle game of a three-game midweek series between the two teams.
Georgia Southern is 26-21 after a three-game sweep of the ULM Warhawks in the previous weekend's action. Georgia Southern scored a total of 27 runs in three games to take down the Warhawks in dominating fashion. Jacksonville is 22-23 on the season, most recently falling in three games on the road to the FGCU Eagles in Fort Myers.
Georgia Southern and Jacksonville have already met once this season, with the Eagles coming away from John Sessions Stadium with a 9-7 victory back in February. In that game, a six-run fourth inning highlighted by Sam Blancato's first-career grand slam, proved to be the difference in the contest.
Georgia Southern is 79-60 all-time against Jacksonville and has won the previous 14 match-ups with the Dolphins. In Jacksonville, the Eagles are 33-36 all-time.
