Baseball Series vs. Radford Weekend Festivities Explained

Learn about all of the fun events surrounding the baseball series this weekend
STATESBORO – There's a lot going on surrounding this weekend's baseball series against the Radford Highlanders, and Georgia Southern Athletics is here to explain everything that you need to know going into the weekend.
This weekend holds several different distinctions, including Alumni Weekend, the team's annual Vs. Cancer series, as well as themed days on all three days. More information about all of the events and themes are provided below for fans to familiarize themselves with before coming out to the series.
ALUMNI WEEKEND
We are excited to welcome back all alumni from Georgia Southern baseball. Alumni of the team can request tickets for the Friday and Saturday games to be held, as well as take part in the alumni golf tournament. We will be honoring all alumni all weekend, and on Saturday afternoon, we will honor the 2009 SoCon Championship and 2014 SoCon Championship teams during the game. The 2009 team would go to to compete against Gonzaga and Utah in the Fullerton Regional as the #2 seed, while the 2014 team went to No. 5 National Seed Florida State and opened their regional with a shutout victory over the Seminoles.
In addition, Brian Pierce (INF, 2006-09) and Chase Griffin (C, 2012-15) will throw first pitches prior to Saturday's game.

VS. CANCER
Last season, Georgia Southern baseball raised over $17,000 for Vs. Cancer. All student-athletes and coaches shave their heads at the conclusion of the final game of the series, with haircuts courtesy of Vintage Barbers.
Vs. Cancer is a nonprofit fundraising campaign under the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation dedicated to saving kids' lives by empowering athletes and communities to fund lifesaving childhood cancer efforts. The organization works with over 250 collegiate baseball teams, as well as countless high schools and youth teams to help fight pediatric brain tumors.
Our players can share their donation link to raise funds personally, as well as have family and friends support this campaign through sponsorships and by attending percentage nights throughout the week prior to the Vs. MARKETING PROMOTIONS
The Georgia Southern Athletics Marketing team is excited to bring three different promotions to J.I. Clements Stadium this weekend, with every day containing a fun new theme for fans to enjoy.
On Friday night, fans can experience the Carnival at Clements, featuring various carnival favorites, such as a balloon artist and face painter, while being able to snack on some delicious cotton candy.
Saturday will be Decades Day, where fans will learn more about Georgia Southern baseball through the decades, remembering fan-favorite moments and looking deep into the team's history. Fans can also receive a free Georgia Southern mini batting helmet with the throwback interlocking GS on it.
Sunday will be the fan-favorite Bark in the Park. Fans are encouraged to bring their dogs to the stadium for a fun afternoon with their furry friends, but all fans are required to abide by the rules outlined below:

- Clean up after your pet.
- Dogs making excessive noise may be asked to leave.
- Dogs must remain on a leash at all times.
- Re-entry is acceptable with a ticket stub/mobile ticket.
- Dogs must be up-to-date on all vaccinations.
- Dogs should be in good health.
- Dogs should be friendly towards other dogs and all fans.
- Be courteous of the other fans around you.
- You are expected to pick up after your dog if nature should call them in the park.
