MIDWEEK PREVIEW: Eagles and Bulldogs Face Off for the Final Time This Season

STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern baseball team will face off against the Georgia Bulldogs of the SEC one last time this season, facing off at Foley Field in Athens, Georgia. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29.
The Eagles and the Bulldogs have met two prior times this season, with the Bulldogs taking both contests thus far. UGA beat the Eagles at SRP Park on March 7, 17-11, and then defeated the Eagles in Statesboro the following night, 9-4.
Georgia Southern brings a 12-12 record into the contest after salvaging the series against Southern Miss by winning the last game, 10-8. Prior to that, the Eagles took down mercer in a back-and-forth affair at OrthoGeorgia Park, 12-11. Georgia comes into the contest with a 15-9 record, but have fallen in both of their conference series thus far, getting swept by South Carolina to start conference play and falling in the first two games to Auburn, defeating the Tigers in the final game of the series.
Georgia Southern is 21-33-1 all-time in Athens, last beating the Bulldogs on the road in 2021 by a final score of 2-1.
Georgia Southern will turn to junior RHP Ga'von Wray (0-1, 9.00 ERA) for the contest, making his third start of the season in the midweek for the Eagles. Georgia will send out freshman RHP Kolten Smith (1-0, 4.50 ERA), who the Eagles have already seen this season. Smith made the start against the Eagles in Statesboro.
