Noah Ledford opened the scoring this afternoon, scoring after a wild pitch and a passed ball allowed him to advance around the bases. In the top of the third, Drew Gilbert homered to right field to tie the ballgame.
The Eagles regained the lead in the fourth, as Jason Swan doubled off the wall in left to score JP Tighe. In the fifth, Mason McWhorter singled to center to score Blake Evans and add to the lead. David Johnson would take over in the sixth, working two innings and striking out four batters.
In the eighth, Jake Rucker singled up the middle with two outs to tie the ballgame at three. An inning later, Drew Gilbert hit a two-run home run to take the lead and, as he crossed home plate, words were exchanged between dugouts.Â
