LAFAYETTE, La. – Ike Smith netted a game-high 25 points,
Quan Jackson scored his 1,000th career point and Georgia Southern outscored Louisiana 19-5 over the final 7:20 of the game to earn an 86-79 win over the Ragin' Cajuns Saturday night in the Cajundome.

Smith added seven rebounds and an assist, and Jackson finished with 23 points, four rebounds and four steals. His 1,000th point came on a triple from the wing with 7:15 left in the first half.
Elijah McCadden scored 12, and
Calvin Wishart chipped in 10, including four free throws inside the final minute.
Key moments
Down by seven late in the contest, the Eagles (15-10, 9-5) made five straight field goals and went on a 12-3 run to open a 79-77 lead with 2:56 remaining. Jalen Johnson answered with a layup for the Ragin' Cajuns with 1:37 to go, but that would be their last points of the game.
Wishart hit a jumper from the corner, and after the Eagles got a stop, Smith made 1-of-2 from the free-throw line. Cedric Russell got fouled on consecutive trips for Louisiana but missed the front end of two 1-and-1s. Wishart made four free throws to seal the win.
Trailing 57-50 early in the second half, Louisiana (10-15, 5-9) scored nine straight points to open a brief two-point cushion on a Russell fast-break layup with 13:29 to go.
Key stats
The Eagles shot a season-high 58.2 percent from the field and only committed 10 turnovers in the game. Jackson and Smith combined to go 18 of 23 from the floor. The Eagles shot a season best 61 percent in the first half.
Next up
