
Eagles Send Arkansas State Packing, Advances to Fourth Round

PENSACOLA, Fla. – Georgia Southern men's basketball (18-15, 8-10 SBC), paced by Tyren Moore's 25 points, defeated Arkansas State (20-12, 11-7 SBC), 80-77, on Thursday evening at the Pensacola Bay Center.
With the win over the Red Wolves, the Eagles secured its first victory since 2015 over a program who had 20-plus wins since defeating ULM in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in 2015. The Eagles registered four double-digit scorers on the evening, as Moore (25), Alden Applewhite (16), Tsvet Sotirov (11), and Spudd Webb (10) registered that threshold.
With an eight-point lead at halftime, Georgia Southern saw it erased by an 11-0 run by the Red Wolves, before Moore drained three consecutive three-pointers to pull the Eagles back into the lead. The Louisville, Kentucky, native collected seven threes on the evening, one off his career high.
The Eagles shot a season high 90 percent from the free throw stripe and knocked down 14 three pointers in the victory. The Eagles also shot 45.3 percent from the field, while tallying 15 points off turnovers.
