SCORING PLAYS

Bottom 3rd - Down by a run, and without a hit in the game, the Eagles got things going in the third with a walk and a hit batter. A Steven Curry sacrifice fly plated Jason Swan, while a wild pitch on Matt Anderson's strikeout allowed him to reach and a run to score with two outs. Mason McWhorter tallied Georgia Southern's first hit, a single dumped to center which sent Christian Avant in to make it a 3-1 Eagle lead.
Top 5th - Georgia Southern kicked the ball around in the fifth inning to allow Louisiana to score an unearned run. A ground ball to third was misplayed to allow one runner to reach, while a throwing error by the third baseman got past McWhorter at first, allowing the run to round third and score.
Bottom 5th - The Eagles bounced back quickly in the fifth, taking advantage of a Louisiana error to score two runs. Anderson reached on a squibber that was misplayed at third base, and scored on Noah Searcy's single to right. Searcy scored a run of his own on Jason Swan's single through the left side to make it a 5-2 lead.
Top 6th - The Cajuns got a two-out single in the sixth, and turned that into a run with a pair of Eagle errors. A ball to first base was misplayed off the forearm, while a failed pickoff toss allowed the run to score and cut the lead to 5-3.
Bottom 7th - Seacy reached in the seventh with on out when he was hit by a pitch, a single and a pair of wild pitches conspired to bring the freshman in to score and push the lead back to 6-3 as the game was turned over to the Eagle Bullpen.
