REDSHIRT SENIOR (2017): Posted a 2-5 record in 16 appearances and 11 starts in 2017… Finished with a 4.90 ERA as a senior in 71.2 innings of work with 75 strikeouts to rank second on the team… Closed his career ranked seventh on the top-10 ERA chart with a 3.42 mark… Threw a three-hit shutout against Little Rock (4/29) to pick up his second win of the season and claiming Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week Honors… Went the distance in a 3-0 loss to Louisiana (5/5), scattering five hits, two earned runs and eight strikeouts… Fanned nine batters in back-to-back starts at Memphis and Elon... Named Preseason All-Sun Belt… Selected to SportsCenter Top Plays on May 12 for a barehanded catch against Arkansas State, reaching No. 5 on their countdown of the day's best… Earned his degree in a special commencement ceremony on May 8th.

REDSHIRT JUNIOR (2016): Named Second Team All-Sun Belt Conference... Started 16 games on the bump… Had a 7-5 record… Allowed 81 hits and 43 runs (36 earned), striking out a team-leading and conference fifth 77 batters… Led the conference in batters struck out looking with 29… Tied second in the conference in runners picked off with five… Had a 3.14 ERA… Led the team and tied for third in the conference in innings pitched with 103.1… Tied for sixth in the conference in opposing batting average with a .219… Season-high 8.0 IP at Appalachian State (3/11)… Season-high 10 strikeouts at Arkansas State (3/24)… Pitched 7.0 shutout innings and allowed just three hits vs. Georgia State (5/20 Game 1)… Named to Sun Belt Honor Roll.

REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (2015): Started 14 games as the Friday Night starter for the Eagles... Named first team All-Sun Belt Conference... Went 5-3 on the mound with a 2.03 ERA that ranked second in the Sun Belt... Struck out 58 batters with just 20 walks over 80.0 innings of work... Allowed just 10 extra base hits and held opposing batters to a .237... Did not allow an earned run in four appearances including an eight-inning victory at Troy (3/14) and UL Monroe (4/24)... Struck out nine batters at UL Lafayette (4/3) in a win over the Ragin’ Cajuns.

SOPHOMORE (2014): Redshirted... Named to Sun Belt Honor Roll.

FRESHMAN (2013): Went 1-1 with a 4.23 ERA in 17 games... Made five starts on the mound and threw 38.1 innings... Allowed 10 walks and struck out 24 batters... Allowed 51 hits and 29 runs and opponents hit .329 against him... Averaged 2.25 innings per appearance... Allowed just three of his 13 inherited runners to score... Made his first career start at Florida (2/20) and allowed one hit and two runs over 4.1 innings... Threw 1.2 scoreless innings in his career debut against Georgia (2/17)... Tossed three scoreless frames and struck out three batters in a relief appearance against Xavier (3/3)... Worked around six hits to hold Kennesaw State (4/17) to one earned run over 4.2 innings in his fourth start of the season... Held North Florida (5/14) scoreless over 4.1 innings.

PREP: Played for head coach Frank Scott at Mount Dora High School in Mount Dora, Fla... Three-year letter winner... Named the 4A Pitcher of the Year as a senior... Served as a team captain... Helped lead the Hurricanes to a 29-4 record as a junior and their first-ever appearance in the state final four... Also lettered in basketball.

PERSONAL: Born Evan Richard Challenger on Sept. 19, 1993 in Asheville, N.C... Son of Richard and Natalie Challenger... Has three siblings Alex, Lydia and Emma.
