CONWAY, S.C. – The Georgia Southern Eagles (13-18) claim their first Sun Belt series against the Coastal Carolina Chanicleers (0-0) claiming both games during Friday's doubleheader.
Game One
Georgia Southern opened its Sun Belt series at Coastal Carolina with a strong start, using a six-run first inning to power past the Chanticleers, 7-4.
The Eagles struck early and often, capitalizing on control issues and timely hitting in the opening frame.
A bases-loaded walk and a passed ball brought home the first two runs before an RBI single made it 3-0. Georgia Southern then closed the game shut with Davis' two-RBI double to right field.
In the circle, the Eagles maintained control through the middle innings, keeping the Chanticleers off the scoreboard and preserving the early advantage.
Coastal Carolina mounted a late push in the sixth, scoring two runs highlighted by a two RBI double, but the rally fell short as Georgia Southern kept them scoreless in the seventh frame.

The Eagles created early separation with a multi-run inning in the middle frames, capitalizing on key opportunities with runners in scoring position.
