THE OPENING TIP
- Georgia Southern men's basketball split the weekend road trip in Louisiana, defeating ULM, before falling to Louisiana on Saturday afternoon. With a 6-5 record in the Sun Belt, Georgia Southern is two games out of first place, hosting Texas State (6-6), Appalachian State (8-4), and Marshall (6-4) over that stretch.
- The Eagles final home game of the season on February 14th against Marshall has been elevated to ESPNU.
- Senior forward Shainen Carter moved into a tie for 11th all-time in a single season for blocks, recording two against ULM on Friday. Carter joins Rory Spencer (2010-11) who tallied 35 during his campaign. Carter needs three blocks over the course of the next eight games to move into the top 10, chasing Simeon Carter (2018-19), who recorded 38.
- After a three-game home skid at the hands of Coastal Carolina, Arkansas State, and Troy, the Eagles rebounded with a road victory at ULM. The contest, originally scheduled to be played on the campus of the Warhawks, was moved to Grambling State due to the effects of the winter storm that rolled through earlier in the week. Georgia Southern held a four-point advantage at the break, forcing ULM into 11 first-half turnovers, before the Warhawks put the pressure on the Eagles. In the second half, timely plays on both sides of the ball, including free throws by Spudd Webb and an acrobatic finish by Tyren Moore, helped secure the third road victory in conference play this season for the Eagles. Georgia Southern is now 3-2 in five road conference games after falling to Louisiana on Saturday.
- Georgia Southern men's basketball has been strongest inside the friendly confines of the Jack and Ruth Ann Hill Convocation Center, posting an all-time record of 16-6. In those 22 contests, the Eagles are averaging 80.9 points per game. During that stretch, the Eagles tallied the most points scored during the Charlie Henry era, tallying 100 against Coastal Georgia. This season, Georgia Southern has posted an 8-3 record inside The Hill averaging 85.6 points per game, while allowing 77.1 points per game.
- The Eagles have been one of the more prolific scoring teams in the Sun Belt Conference since joining the league during the 2014-15 season. In the 12 years since the Eagles' arrival, Georgia Southern has posted a 43-3 record when scoring 90-plus points in a game. For the 2025-26 season, the Eagles have secured an 8-0 record when tallying 90-plus points per game.
