TUSCALOOSA, ALA. – Georgia Southern battled through two competitive games Saturday evening at the Bama Bash but fell to Liberty before dropping a late-inning thriller to Purdue. The Eagles showed resilience throughout the day, mounting rallies and producing key offensive moments.
vs. Liberty (2-8)
Georgia Southern fell to Liberty 6-1 in its road rematch at Rhoads Stadium. The Eagles managed just three hits in the contest and were held in check offensively for much of the game.
Liberty struck first in the top of the first inning when an RBI sacrifice fly brought home a run and gave the Flames an early 1-0 lead. Georgia Southern's lone run came in the seventh inning when freshman Carley Ramsden connected on a solo home run, cutting the deficit to 6-1 and marking her first career home run.
The Flames broke the game open with a five-run sixth inning.
