Georgia Southern's five incoming freshman lauded as one of the top in the nation
STATESBORO - The 2024-25 recruiting class for Georgia Southern women's tennis has been ranked as the No. 22 recruiting class in the country, per the Tennis Recruiting Network in the site's Winter rankings.
The Eagles' five signees represent the first time that the women's tennis program has earned a ranking in the Top 25 recruiting classes by the organization. Georgia Southern is one of just four mid-major programs to appear in the rankings.
You can read about the Eagles' five signees here. They are: Hannah Eifert (Schermbeck, Germany); Franzi Heinemann (Bad Driburg, Germany); Lisen Rinman (Stockholm. Sweden); Amelie Rosadoro (Alicante, Spain) and Evelyn Warkentin (Aschendorf, Germany).
"I'm very excited about the five women that will be joining the Eagle family in the Fall," Georgia Southern head women's tennis coach Sean McCaffrey said. "I believe each of them brings so many fantastic qualities to our group as a whole. I've had a great opportunity to spend time with all of them and truly believe we are all aligned with where our program is headed.
"Of course, this also means that we will see the playing careers of five incredibly talented and passionate women leave our program in Sophie, Sonja, Lindsay, Silvia and Paula, but they will always be a part of our family. The time and energy spent on identifying the incoming class of five women was worth all the effort both myself and Jana put in. They bring a high degree of character, a goal-oriented mindset and an excitement for becoming an Eagle. We are all thrilled about having Hannah, Evelyn, Amelie, Franzi and Lisen arrive here in August!"
