Head Women's Tennis Coach Sean McCaffrey Inks Extension Through 2030

All-time winningest head coach at Georgia Southern signs a four-year contract extension
McCaffrey became the school's all-time winningest women's tennis head coach on Senior Day of last season with the Eagles' 4-1 victory over Marshall. Since joining Georgia Southern in 2018, McCaffrey has compiled a 125-79 overall record for a .613 winning percentage. The Eagles have also gone an amazing 69-21 at the Wallis Tennis Center during his nine seasons, a .767 winning percentage.
The Eagles captured the Sun Belt Conference tournament title in 2021 under McCaffrey's tutelage, making the program's first foray into the NCAA Championships. In three of the last four seasons, the team has also earned an ITA national team ranking with a program-best No. 65 national ranking coming in the Spring of 2025.
The 2021 Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year, McCaffrey has coached six All-Sun Belt singles and 10 All-Sun Belt doubles honorees in his nine seasons with the Eagles. In a collegiate coaching career that has spanned 23 seasons, McCaffrey has won 515 matches combined between men's and women's programs.
