STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern baseball team earned a sweep of UT-Arlington with a 12-1 victory in seven innings on Saturday morning at J.I. Clements Stadium.

The game began at 6:30 pm on Friday night where UT-Arlington (15-38, 7-23 SBC) took a 1-0 lead after the top of the first inning. In the bottom of the first inning, Georgia Southern (38-17, 23-7 SBC) scored three runs, the first one coming from a Chrsitian Avant RBI-single to score Jason Swan, and the second coming from Noah Ledford's third home run of the series, setting the Eagles up with a 3-1 lead.

The game was suspended in the middle of the third inning due to inclement weather, and the game was resumed at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning. Ledford kicked off the scoring on Saturday with a bases-clearing double down the right field line, scoring JP Tighe, Jesse Sherrill and Avant. Austin Thompson capped off the bottom of the fourth inning with an RBI-single, plating Ledford and giving the Eagles a 7-1 lead.
