South Alabama's Hot Bats Down Eagles in Championship Game

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – South Alabama's three-run home run to the tie the ballgame in the second, helped guide the Jaguars to a 10-3 victory on Sunday afternoon in Montgomery. The Eagles fall to 34-23 on the season, while the Jaguars improve to 33-20. 
 
The Eagles opened up the scoring in the first inning with a solo home run to left field by Mason McWhorter. Georgia Southern would add two more to increase their lead in the second to 3-0, with a Noah Searcy sacrifice fly and a Steven Curry single. 
 
South Alabama would respond in five separate innings, highlighted by a three-run home run in the second by Richard Sorrenti to tie the ballgame. Hayden Harris was pegged with the loss on Sunday, falling to 2-3 on the season. Harris allowed two runs on two hits in his two and 2/3 innings of work.
 
Parker Biederer, Jordan Jackson and Jason Swan were all named to the 2021 Sun Belt All-Tournament Team.
