KENNESAW, Ga. – Georgia Southern baseball scored in five different innings to defeat the Kennesaw State Owls 11-5 on Wednesday. GS improves to 22-14 on the year, while Kennesaw State falls to 22-10 on the year.

Jay Thompson improved to 3-0 on the season, coming on in relief in the third. Thompson went one and 1/3 innings, allowing one hit and striking out one.
Hayden Harris worked two innings on Wednesday striking out six Owls, before giving way to
Griffin Davis in the final two innings.Â

In the first inning the Eagles got on the board first when
Austin Thompson singled through the right-side to score
Mason McWhorter and
Steven Curry.
Steven Curry grounded out to third to score
Jason Swan in the second.

Kennesaw State responded in the bottom half of the second, scoring five runs to take the lead 5-3.
Jarrett Brown tripled to left field to tie the ball game in the top of the third. In the fourth
Mason McWhorter would add his 12
th home run of the season to give the Eagles a 6-5 lead.

GS would go on to score five more runs in the sixth and eighth innings to cap off the 11-5 victory. Georgia Southern will now head West for the first ever meeting between the Eagles and the Sooners.
