STATESBORO, Ga. – On Friday afternoon, Georgia Southern baseball officially released the 2022 schedule. The 55 game schedule features three NCAA Regional teams, One College World Series participant, a full Sun Belt Conference slate and much more.

The 2022 campaign kicks off in Knoxville, Tennessee as the Eagles head to No. 6 Tennessee for the rematch against the College World Series participant. The Vols finished the 2021 season 50-18, advancing to the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska before being eliminated in two games.

Georgia Southern will open the home portion of the schedule on February 22
nd, hosting Georgia Tech at J.I. Clements Stadium. The Eagles and Yellow Jackets did not play in 2021, due to weather and the ACC limiting non-conference matchups.

The Eagles host their first home series, beginning on February 25
th as the UCF Knights head to Statesboro. The Knights finished the 2021 campaign 31-30, falling to eventual Gainesville Regional Champion USF in the American Athletic Championship game.

To begin March, GS will head to Jacksonville, Florida to take on the Dolphins. They will return home to host the RedHawks of Miami (OH) on March 4
th.

Georgia Southern baseball and Georgia baseball return to a home-neutral-home setup this season for the series. Game one will be March 8
th at SRP Park in North Augusta, S.C. Game two will be on March 9
th in Statesboro, while the third and final game will be on March 29
th in Athens.

The Eagles begin Sun Belt Conference play a bit earlier this season, as the league and coaches decided to return to a traditional full conference slate. GS heads up the mountain on March 18
th to face off against Appalachian State.Â

To begin April, Georgia Southern and Louisiana will meet for the first time during the regular season since 2018. It will also be the first time in Cajun Country since 2017. The Eagles also head back to San Marcos, Texas for the first time since 2018. The Bobcats and Eagles were scheduled to meet in Texas in 2020, but Covid shut the season down after just 16 games.

The Eagles and Panthers will meet in Statesboro for Easter weekend, before GS head to Tallahassee, Florida to take on the Seminoles. Georgia Southern will head to Mobile for a rematch of the 2021 Sun Belt Conference Championship game, before opening a seven-game home stand.Â

During that home stand, GS will host Kennesaw State, Coastal Carolina, and Troy. The Eagles head to Atlanta for the return trip to Georgia Tech on May 11
th and complete the road portion of their schedule in Little Rock, Arkansas that weekend. GS welcomes Mercer and UT-Arlington into town for the final week of the regular season.

The Sun Belt Conference Tournament returns to Montgomery, Alabama and Riverwalk Stadium, home of the Montgomery Biscuits. The tournament will run from May 24
th through the 29
