STATESBORO – Friday night's men's basketball game against Coastal Carolina in Hanner Fieldhouse will air live on ESPN2, and tipoff has moved to 8:30 p.m., the Sun Belt Conference and its television partners announced today.
In addition, Saturday's tipoff against the Chanticleers will move to 4 p.m. to allow the student-athletes more recovery time between contests. Saturday's game will air live on ESPN+.
Friday's game will be the first broadcast on ESPN or ESPN2 from Hanner Fieldhouse since Feb. 15, 2019, a 76-51 Eagle win over Troy.
Georgia Southern and Coastal Carolina are opening their four-game season series this weekend, and the all-time series is tied 5-5 with the Eagles winning the last four. GS is third in the Sun Belt East Division, a game ahead of Georgia State, while Coastal Carolina is in second, a half game behind first-place Appalachian State.
Friday's game will be 90s Night, and Saturday's game will be Hometown Heroes Night, presented by the Georgia Army National Guard - All military personnel, first responders and healthcare workers receive a free ticket with a valid ID or badge.
Georgia Southern is also running a ticket promotion for the Saturday game – the Family 4 Pack, which consists of four upper reserved tickets for $60.
