STATESBORO – The men's basketball team has added another guard to the roster, inking 6'3 guard Jefferson Koulibaly, who played last season at Pacific, head coach
Charlie Henry announced.
Koulibaly, who hails from LaSalle, Montreal, Quebec, has also spent time at Washington State and SMU before landing in Statesboro.
Last season with the Tigers, he appeared in 31 of 33 games, averaging 6.4 points per game, 2.2 rebounds and shooting 37.3 percent from three. He scored in double figures 10 times, including a career-best 15 points against Portland State on Dec. 18.
He notched six steals against his former school, Washington State, on Jan. 30, which was the most by any Tigers player in 2024-25.
Before his time in Stockton, Koulibaly also played for SMU (2022-24) and Washington State (2020-22). He was a member of the American Conference All-Academic Team in 2022-23, averaging 1.6 points and 0.9 rebounds for the Mustangs in 18 games during an injury-shortened campaign.
He had a decorated high school career in Canada, attending Lincoln Prep, averaging nearly 28 points per game during his senior season. He also represented Canada in the international ranks, playing in the FIBA U16 Championships during the 2017 season.
Koulibaly, who will be the first Eagle to don no. 9, will also be the first Georgia Southern player to hail from Canada since at least the 2013-14 season.
