STATESBORO – Georgia Southern men's basketball coach
Brian Burg announced today that the Eagles have added a non-conference contest against USC Upstate to the schedule.
The Eagles and Spartans will play Saturday, Dec. 5, at 6 p.m. at the Hodge Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The contest will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
"We had some time between games in our schedule and were looking to get another game before exams begin," said Burg. "This is a tremendous opportunity to compete against a good opponent on the road, and we're grateful for the chance to play a game at USC Upstate Saturday."
GS has played USC Upstate once on the hardwood, an 84-80 Eagle victory in the Hodge Center Nov. 27, 2015, in the Palmetto State Shootout.
It will be the Eagles' first road game and USC Upstate's third home contest of the season. GS is coming off a 91-79 victory over Coastal Georgia last Saturday, while the Spartans play host to Eastern Kentucky this evening in the Hodge Center.
