
Friday Night's Baseball Game at App State Suspended in the Sixth Inning

Heavy fog in Boone forces the game to be called - Play will resume at 11 a.m. on Saturday
BOONE, N.C. – Friday Night's Georgia Southern Baseball series opener at Appalachian State has been suspended in the sixth inning due to fog. The Eagles took the lead 3-0 in the top of the sixth, but with one out in the bottom of the inning, the contest was called for the night.
The game will resume on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the sixth inning. Game two of the series will go approximately 45 minutes after the conclusion of game one.
App State retired the first 15 Eagles in order, but Jason Swan got the Eagles' their first hit in the top of the sixth. Georgia Southern got three runs off five hits in the inning to take the lead.
Seth Shuman scattered four hits over five and a third shutout innings, striking out seven. He will not be able to return on Saturday for the resumption of play and is in line for his third win of the season, should the result hold.
