DAYTON, Ohio – Josh Cunningham tallied 25 points, six rebounds and five assists, and Dayton shot 57 percent from the field to earn a 94-90 men's basketball win over Georgia Southern Saturday afternoon at UD Arena.

Quan Jackson led the Eagles with 24 points and added five rebounds and two assists, and
Tookie Brown collected 20 points and six assists.
David-Lee Jones Jr. finished with 17 points and three assists, and
Isaiah Crawley notched 16 points, five rebounds and three assists.
Key moments
With GS ahead by six, Dayton (8-5) went on a 15-2 run to open a 32-25 advantage with 4:57 left in the first half. Cunningham netted seven points during the stretch, while the Eagles committed five turnovers and had turnovers on eight of nine possessions at one point in the frame. The Flyers capped the half with a 7-0 spurt to lead 47-34 at the break.
The Eagles continued to chip away in the second half, and a late 7-0 run, capped by a
Simeon Carter dunk off a Jackson assist, made the score 85-84 with 2:37 left. The teams traded baskets from there, and with the Flyers leading 90-88, the Eagles got the defensive stop they needed. Jackson drove to the basket, took contact with no call and had his layup try roll off the rim with 25 seconds to go. The Eagles were forced to foul, and Jalen Crutcher went 4-for-4 from the free-throw line to seal the win.

Montae Glenn was injured on the first possession of the game and did not return.
Stats of the Game
The Eagles shot 66 percent from the field in the second half and made 9 of 15 from 3-point range, but Dayton shot 61 percent in the second frame. GS finished the game with 16 turnovers.
