NEW ORLEANS – A combination of 14 Georgia Southern men's and women's basketball Sun Belt Conference games will be broadcast on ESPN2 or ESPN3 as part of the league's 2015-16 basketball television package, which was announced today.
The Eagle men's team will now have a total of 10 contests broadcast live on ESPN2, ESPN3 and the SEC Network+ this season. Georgia Southern's home game against Georgia State Feb. 23 in Hanner Fieldhouse will be broadcast on ESPN2, and six other men's Sun Belt Conference games will be broadcast on ESPN3 as part of the league package. The Eagles' game at Duke Dec. 15 will be broadcast on ESPN2, the game at Ole Miss Nov. 16 will be shown on the SEC Network+ and the home contest against Appalachian State Feb. 25 will be broadcast on ESPN3.
Georgia Southern's women's program will have seven contests broadcast on ESPN3 as part of the Sun Belt package, beginning with the Eagles' home contest against UL Lafayette in Hanner Fieldhouse Jan. 14. The Eagles' game against Appalachian State Feb. 25 is also set to air on ESPN3.
All of the men's and women's games at the Sun Belt Championship in New Orleans March 9-13 will be shown on ESPN3, and the men's championship game Sunday, March 13, at 1 p.m. Eastern will be broadcast on ESPN2.
ESPN3 will broadcast 102 Sun Belt games during the 2015-16 season to go along with two nationally-televised rivalry games on ESPN2. On-campus productions for ESPN3 broadcasts are part of an expanded joint partnership between the 11 member institutions of the Sun Belt Conference and ESPN. The television productions offer unique opportunities for students and staff at each Sun Belt Conference member institution in live-game production.
