STORYLINES
  • Georgia Southern looks to build on their 20-2 win on Sunday when they travel to Kennesaw State Wednesday. First pitch in the mid-week game is set for 6 p.m.
  • The Owls have won 11-straight games and have not lost since April 5th at Florida Gulf Coast.
  • The Eagles were shut out 3-0 and tallied just two hits in the last meeting between these two teams in Statesboro on April 2nd.
  • GSU is 19-9 at home but just 9-9 on the road this season.
  • The Eagles are just 5-5 in mid-week contests.
  • Ryan Cleveland went four for four with six RBI, a double, two walks and two home runs in the series finale at Wofford. 
  • GSU scored 20 runs for the third time this season and the first time since March 2nd in a 20-2 win at Wofford. The last time the Eagles scored 20 or more runs three times in a season was 2009.
  • GSU allowed less than five hits for the first time in the last seven games on Sunday.

  • The Eagles lead the league in runs scored (329), hits (476), RBI (294), doubles (88), home runs (47) and total bases (713).

  • The Eagles opened the season with a 15-2 record and posted wins over Georgia and Georgia Tech before dropping their first series of the year to Elon.

  • Garrett Chapman is seeking to become the first freshman since 1984 to lead the team in batting average. Chapman currently is hitting a team-best .353.
  • Chapman leads the team with 17 multi-hit games. Chapman has 12 two-hit games, four three-hit games and one four-hit game.
  • Aaron Mizell leads the team with 11 home runs and is third on the squad with a .314 batting average.
  • Mizell has a hit in eight of his last 10 starts.
  • Stryker Brown has a hit in six-straight games and has reached base in 11-straight contests.
  • Brown leads the team in multi-RBI games with 11 and has hit a career-best seven home runs this season.
  • Brown has never hit better than .257 in a full season but is second on the team with a .335 average in 2014.
  • Chase Griffin has a career-high 12 doubles this season.
  • Matt McCall ranks seventh in career saves and has a career-high seven saves this season.
  • Ben Morgan needs just three more stolen bases to crack the career top-10 list.
  • Jason Richman needs just two more appearances to crack the season top-10 list.

CONNECTION JUNCTION
  • Three Cartersville High School products will meet in Wednesday's game. Georgia Southern's Sam Howard will face his former teammates in Kendall Hawkins and Colin Bennett, who now play for Kennesaw State.
