Eagles Sign Ten for 2026 Roster


STATESBORO — The Georgia Southern baseball team announced seven signees for the upcoming 2026 season. The list consists of six transfers, four of which from Power Four schools, and a singular high school player.

Chase Davis: LHP/INF - Tallahassee, Fla. - South Alabama - Sophomore
In his freshman season for the Jaguars, Davis made eight appearances on the season with seven starts. With a 1-3 record across 20.2 innings, he's allowed 17 earned runs while striking out 13. Against eventual regional host in Southern Miss on March 30th, Davis would give up four hits but not allow an earned run in his three innings of work. He also would throw for 2.1 innings against the Eagles on April 5th.

Bradley Ferrell: RHP - La Porte, Ind. - Kentucky -  Redshirt Freshman
For the Wildcats, Ferrell made one appearance on the season; a one inning outing against Hofstra on March 1st. An All-State selection in 2022 and 2023, he was rated as the number two RHP in the state of Indiana and in the top 250 in his recruiting class. He also was a 2022 and 2023 Preseason Perfect Game Underclass All-American,

Dayson Griffis: RHP/3B - Baxley, Ga. - Appling County HS - Freshman
The number one overall third baseman in the state of Georgia, Griffis has phenomenal power in his bat with great bat to ball numbers to boot. Additionally, the Appling County graduate is up to 94 mph on the mound and even at 95 at the hot corner. A three-time Region Player of the Year, he also was an all-state selection at quarterback and punter.

Daniel Hartley: RHP/INF - Auburndale, Fla. - State College of Florida - Junior
Across his two seasons with the Manatees, Hartley had a career 6-4 record with a 3.60 ERA across 30 appearances. In his 45 innings of work, he would allow just 18 earned runs while finishing with a phenomenal 50/18 strikeout to walk ratio. His most recent season proved his dominance on the mound as he would have a 4-1 record across 17.2 innings with a 12.23 K/9. Hartley picked up 24 strikeouts his sophomore season, allowed just five runs, and collected four saves.


Grant Jordan: INF - St. Petersburg, Fla. - Pasco-Hernando State College - Junior
A transfer from the Bobcats of Pasco-Hernando, Jordan finished his 2025 campaign with a scorching .366 average at the plate with five homers and 43 RBIs in his 58 games. The now-junior also stole 21 bases with the Bobcats, including two multi-steal contests. Jordan had 15 mult-hit games last season with nine of his games seeing him smack three hits. With a .476 OBP and a .478 SLG, Jordan is sure to bring experience and a hot bat to the plate for the Eagles. Also a transfer from the University of Tampa, Jordan brings back-to-back championship seasons to Statesboro as he won the Division II National Championship with the Spartans in 2024 and the NJCAA Division II World Series last season. 


Craig Kalkbrenner: RHP - Kennesaw, Ga. - Mercer - Sophomore
Spending his first collegiate season with the Bears just up the interstate, Kalkbrenner had the most appearances of any pitcher on their staff with 26 in 2025. Across the loads of experience he got on the mound, he ended the year with a 4.70 ERA and a 1-2 record. The now second-year pitcher threw just over 30 innings last season, striking out 18 and holding batters to just a .220 average at the dish. Kalkbrenner did not give up his first run until his sixth appearance, starting his college career with 4.2 innings of scoreless ball. He also ended his freshman year by only allowing two earned runs through his final seven appearances, totaling an even eight innings. 


Jansen Kenty: LHP - Newnan, Ga. - Alabama - Redshirt Sophomore
Although not making an appearance on the mound last season, Kenty threw 10.2 innings his freshman season in 2024 for the Crimson Tide. His 3.37 ERA allowed him to just give up six hits and  four runs in his 41 batters faced on the year. He was a top-five LHP in the state of Georgia and a top-25 overall player according to Perfect Game. Kenty had 96 strikeouts his junior season while also being named Region 2-7A Player of the Year for three straight seasons. Jansen also played for the Southeast team in the 2018 Little League World Series.


James McCoy: OF/RHP - Port St. Joe, Fla. - Kentucky - Redshirt Senior
Across 52 games and 45 starts in the lineup for the Wildcats, McCoy finished with a .218 average with 25 RBIs, four doubles and six homers. Being named to the Clemson All-Regional Team in 2025, he had a breakout series against Ole Miss where he went 11-12 at the dish with seven RBIs and a homer against the Rebels. He also did not shy away from the mound, as he did not allow a run in his six appearances across four innings on the year as well. With him as the starting right fielder for the Wildcats, they had a .756 win percentage.Was also a top-500 prospect coming out of high school and was a 2021 Perfect Game Preseason All-American.

Max Prozny: INF - Fayetteville, Ga . - Virginia - Junior
A dual-sport athlete, Prozny was a member of both the baseball and football teams for the Cavaliers. Although not seeing action on the diamond yet for Virginia, he was a 2024 First Team All-State selection. The number 17 middle infielder in the state hit .408 his senior season with five homers and 29 stolen bases. On the football field, Prozny was an all-state punter and was a part of the special teams unit for the Cavaliers. He graduated from Starrs Mill, and has played alongside Josh Tate and Sean White in high school.

Holden Wade: LHP - Tampa, Fla. - Pasco-Hernando State College - Redshirt Junior
With Grant Jordan, Wade makes it now two Bobcats to join the Eagles' squad this upcoming season. Wade went a perfect 5-0 on the mound in 2025, including a win over Pearl River CC to win the NJCAA DII World Series. In 39 innings of work across 21 appearances, he finished with a 2.31 ERA, a WHIP of just 0.97 and 43 strikeouts. Also spending his first season at Florida Southwestern State, Wade average 1.1 strikeouts per inning in 2025 on the mound. Finally, the Bobcats were 15-1 last season when Wade threw for an inning or more.

"We are very excited about these young men becoming Eagles," said head coach Rodney Hennon.  "It is a talented, high character group that will make a positive impact on our program.  We are looking forward to a very competitive fall practice as we prepare for 2026."
