STORYLINES- Georgia Southern dropped their second-straight Southern Conference series over the weekend to Samford. The Eagles sit just 9-9 in conference play after five series and are looking to get back in the win column with a pair of mid-week games against Bethune-Cookman and the College of Charleston.
- Head Coach Rodney Hennon welcomes in his former pitching coach and teammate on Tuesday. Jason Beverlin played at Western Carolina from 1992-94 and served as an assistant coach for Hennon from 2008-2009.
- Neither game was originally scheduled to be played at J.I. Clements Stadium. The Bethune-Cookman game was orginally scheduled to be played in Daytona Beach, Fla. and the College of Charleston game is a make-up of a previous rain out date.
- The Eagles defeated the Cougars last Wednesday in Charleston 7-3. GSU posted 14 hits and four doubles in the victory.
- The Eagles tallied just one extra-base hit in the three-game Samford series.
- GSU is 19-8 at home this season and is seeking their first 20 win home slate since 2011. The Eagles went 22-9 at home that season.
- Garrett Chapman continues to lead Georgia Southern in hitting with a .377 batting average and is seeking to be the first Eagle to lead the team in that category since 1984.
- Following the pair of mid-week games, GSU will hit the road for a three-game Southern Conference series at Wofford. The Terriers enter the week in ninth place in the league with a 20-19, 3-11 mark.
