50th meeting – GS Trails 19-30

STORY LINES
-  Georgia Southern opens the final two weeks of the 2013-14 campaign on Thursday evening with a trip to Chattanooga. The Eagles have won four-straight games over the Mocs and return to the Roundhouse for the first time since a 75-72 win on 1-28-12.
-  Jelani Hewitt enters Chattanooga game as the No. 1 ranked scorer in the Southern Conference with 20.4 ppg and  is ranked 22nd in scoring nationwide ... He scored 38 points earlier this season against Campbell and has twice been named SoCon Player of the Week ... He has scored in double figures 25 of 27 games this season and has gone over 20 points in scoring for 16 of the 27 games this year ... Hewitt became the 40th member of the 1,000 point club at GS with 18 against Wofford ... Hewitt now has 1,156 career points to rank 31st in scoring all-time at GS ... Last time out, Hewitt scored 32 points against Davidson.
-  Hewitt was also named SoCon Player of the Month for November 2013, averaging 24.5 ppg in the opening month of the season.
-  Tre Bussey ranks second in scoring for the Eagles and eighth in the SoCon with 15.5 ppg ... He has scored over 20 points in nine of the 27 games this season and has posted double figure scoring in 23 of 27 games ... He became the 41st member of the 1,000 point club against Wofford (1-23-14) with 13 points ... He has 1,074 points to rank 35th at GS.
-  Mark Byington is 18-20 as a Head Coach for his career.
-  Marvin Baynham enters Thursday's game against Chattanooga needing just three rebounds to become the 12th member of the 500 rebound club at Georgia Southern since rebounding records began in the 1971-72 season.
-  Kyle Doyle was named SoCon Freshman of the Week for his play in the wins over UNCG and The Citadel ... In those contests he made his first career starts and posted a double-double against the Spartans with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
