GS vs. Furman – Thursday at 7 p.m.

Eagles host Paladins for Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day

STATESBORO, GA. – Georgia Southern Men's Basketball wraps-up a three-game home stand on Thursday night against rival Furman. The Eagles will look to get back on the winning track before heading to the frozen tundra of Boone while the Paladins enter Thursday's contest in search of the first SoCon win for first-year head coach Niko Medved. The game starts at 7 p.m.

Georgia Southern Faculty and Staff will get free admission to Thursday's game as well as local elementary and middle school students who bring their B-average report card to the game. Prior to the contest, Georgia Southern Athletics will hold the first-ever Hanner Holler, a class detailing exactly what it takes to be a Hanner Hooligan. The class starts at 6:45 and attendance is mandatory.

Starting at 6:30, Georgia Southern students can get free popcorn and drinks from the concession stand while supplies last by showing a valid Eagle ID.

PROMOTIONS
– Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day: Georgia Southern Faculty and Staff receive free admission while spouses and guests get tickets at a reduced rate.
– B-Average Honor Roll Night: Local elementary and middle school students who have a B-average and bring their report card will get free admission for their hard work in the classroom.
– Free Food: Starting at 6:30, Georgia Southern students can get free popcorn and drinks from the concession stand while supplies last by showing a valid Eagle ID.
– Hanner Holler: Learn what it takes to be a Hanner Hooligan starting at 6:45.
– Walker Pharmacy $5,000 Shootout.
– One 11 South/University Village at Southern $7,000 Half-Court Shot Qualifier.

Mark Byington enters Thursday's game with a 15-13 career record. 

THE WEATHER
Thursday should bring a slight cool down from recent temperatures with a high of 49 after a morning low of 31 degrees. Severe clear is expected all day with winds out of the WNW at 10-15 mph.

UP NEXT
The Eagles go on the road on Saturday for an afternoon matinee against future #FunBelt opponent Appalachian State at 2 p.m. That game can be heard live on the Georgia Southern/Nelligan Sports Radio Network.
