STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern, fresh off an impressive showing against the defending ACC Champion Miami Hurricanes returns home to close out a big day at Hanner Fieldhouse. The Eagles take the floor at 8 p.m. against Toccoa Falls to close out a tripleheader at the friendly confines. Fans who donate canned foods to Georgia Southern's Canned Food Drive will receive a discount on tickets for the game.

SERIES HISTORY: First Meeting

The Game
Georgia Southern's final home game before the Thanksgiving Break starts at 8 p.m. and closes a tripleheader at Hanner Fieldhouse. The day starts at 3 p.m. when Georgia Southern Volleyball plays its final game of the regular season. Georgia Southern Women's Basketball hosts its first game of the 2013-14 campaign starting from 5:30 p.m. 

T-Shirt Giveaway
The first 500 students through the door at Hanner Fieldhouse will receive a free t-shirt.

Junior Eagle Club Day
Saturday's game is the first Junior Eagle Club Game of the season. Members of the Junior Eagle Club can use the Family Fun Zone which will be located in the back gym and provide children a place to play on inflatables from Crazy Nick's Inflatables.

The Broadcast
Tommy Palmer and Frank Kerns will be courtside to bring fans all the action across both the Georgia Southern Radio Network by Nelligan Sports and GS All-Access video stream. Fans can purchase their subscription to GS All-Access by going to GSEagles.com/showcase.

The Coach
Mark Byington enters Saturday's game with an 8-5 career record including  1-1 mark at Georgia Southern. Byington is 1-0 all-time at Hanner Fieldhouse as a head coach.

After a chilly week, Saturday is expected to be a warm day with Partly Cloudy skies and a high temperature of 76 degrees.

·         The Eagles took the defending ACC Champion Miami Hurricanes to overtime on Monday, falling 81-80 to "The U" ... GSU went 16-for-16 from the free throw line, posting the best free throw percentage in school history.
·         Georgia Southern opened the 2013-14 season with a 110-74 win over Columbia International ... The Eagles posted 100+ points for the 102nd time in program history and first time since early in the 2010-11 season ... The 110 points ranked 34th all-time for points in a game.
·         Georgia Southern's next win will be the 1,150th in program history.
·         Mark Byington is 8-5 as a Head Coach for his career and picked up his first win at GSU last weekend against CIU.
·         Jelani Hewitt was named SoCon Player of the Week last week after averaging 26.0 points per game in two games last week. He posted 27 points in his return to Miami against the Hurricanes and went 8-for-8 from the free throw line.
·         The trio of Jelani Hewitt, Tre Bussey and Marvin Baynham have been selected by the team as captains for 2013-14.
·         Next up for the Eagles is a trip to face West Virginia in the opening domestic game of the 2013 Cancun Challenge ... That game can be seen live on Root Sports at 7 p.m. ... GSU then travels to Old Dominion on Saturday, November 23rd, for a 3 p.m. contest ... Following the two domestic games, Georgia Southern heads "South of the Border."
·         This season Georgia Southern plays in the 2013 Cancun Challenge at the all-inclusive Hard Rock Hotel Resort just outside of Cancun ... There is still time for fans who haven't purchased their travel packages to see the Eagles play internationally for the first time.
