STATESBORO, Ga. -- For the second straight year, Georgia Southern and Davidson will match up for a "SoCon Saturday" TV game in January.  The January 23 contest between the Eagles and the Wildcats has been selected as one of the 14 men's basketball games televised by SportSouth for the 2009-2010 season.

The SoCon men's schedule includes 10 conference games for "SoCon Saturday" and four contests pitting SoCon teams against ACC opponents, as well as both semifinal matchups from the 2010 Southern Conference Men's Basketball Tournament at Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte.  All 12 conference schools are represented on the telecast schedule.  The Southern Conference and SportSouth partnership has prospered since the network's inception in 1990.

Georgia Southern will have one other TV appearance this season, Fox Sports Network Florida for its game against Florida on Wednesday, Nov. 18^th. All Eagle men's basketball home games are available on Eagle Vision with free audio and subscription-based video services.

New Men's Basketball Coach Charlton Young and the Eagles open the 2009-2010 season at home Friday, November 13 against Reinhardt. Young, who played on the last team to earn bid to the NCAA tournament in 1992, was the MVP of the 1992 SoCon Tournament and earned All-Southern Conference team honors in 1993.
