Sophomore (2020-21) – Indoor: Competed in three meets • Notched a personal best in the weight throw at the Sun Belt Championships (13.76m). Outdoor: Competed in five meets • Took third in the discus at the Georgia Tech Invitational after posting a personal best (41.31m), which ranked ninth in school history • Recorded a personal best in the shot put at the Gamecock Invitational (11.38m) • Tallied a personal best in the hammer throw at the USF Invite (35.93m) • Had three top-8 finishes at the GATA Classic and took second in the discus (40.07m).
2019-20 (FRESHMAN): Indoor: Competed in five meets in the weight throw and shot put...Threw a season best in both events at the Samford Invite with a 35-81/2 in the shot and a 41-7 in the weight throw...Outdoor: Season canceled due to COVID-19.
High School: Attended Whitewater High in Fayetteville where she was a member of the track and cross country teams...Primarily competed in the shot put and discus with a PR of 35-7 and 132-8 respectively...discus county champion 2016-19...Placed fifth, eighth, and sixth at state from 2016-19...Region championship runner-up 2018-19...Also played basketball where her team qualified for state.
Personal: Born 10/02/2001 to parents Constance and Samuel Takang...Siblings are Makayla and Grace...Cousin Joey Mbu played nose tackle in two games for the Atlanta Falcons in 2015 and has also been a practice squad member of the Washington Redskins, Indianapolis Colts, Green Bay Packers, and Miami Dolphins.
