Biography
Junior (2020-21) – Indoor: Competed in three meets • Posted a personal best in the shot put at the Samford Invite (9.44m) • Placed 11th and recorded a personal best in the pentathlon at the Sun Belt Championship (2762) • Also ran a personal best in the 60 hurdles at the Sun Belt Championship (9.12). Outdoor: Competed in four meets • Recorded a personal best in the high jump at the GATA Classic and finished sixth (1.37m) • Also took third in the long jump (5.22m) and second in the 100 hurdles • Ran a personal best in the 100 hurdles at the Georgia Tech Invite (14.81) • Ran a personal best in the 200 at the North Florida Invite (26.17).
2019-20 (SOPHOMORE): Indoor: Competed in three meets in the long jump and hurdles...Best finish came at the Carolina Challenge where she leaped a career best 17-4 3/4 in the long jump in a 14th place effort...Outdoor: Season canceled due to COVID-19.
2018-19 (FRESHMAN): Indoor: Competed in four meets mostly in the 60m and the 60m hurdles….Best finish came in the 60m prelims of the Wake Forest Invitational, finishing 13th with a time of 8:06. Outdoor: Competed in seven meets in a variety of events…Finished in the top-10 on six occasions…Claimed third in both the long jump (17-5 ½) and the 100m hurdles (15.55) at the Savannah State Twilight Meet.
High School: Competed for years at Miller Grove High School… Earned Best All Around Athlete Award (2016)… Athletic Academic Award (2016 & 2017)… MVP in Field Award (2017)… Positive High School Athlete Award (2018)… Ran for Sapphire Track Club and was named All American (2011 - 2016)… AB Honor Roll (2014 - 2017)… A Principal List (2018)… Graduated in the Top-10% of her senior class (2018)… National Honor Society.
Personal: Daughter of MarQuita and Jamal Seymour… Has four siblings La’Trece, Ja’Tiera, Jamal Seymour II and Jamal Seymour III.
