Orlando, Fla. --- The Georgia Southern swim and dive team finished third at the Sun Belt Championships on Saturday night at the Rosen Aquatic Center.
To start off Saturday night,
Victoria Kjaerulff set a new PB in the 1650 free of 17:09.59 to finish sixth in the event. Both her and
Zuri Clavo both set top-five times in program history sor the event on the night. Although no swimmers reached the 200 back A Finals, all three swimmers in
Sally Ouzts,
Allie Byerly, and
Scout Chapin managed to set new PBs on the night.
In the 100 Free,
Chiara Alberti secured a bronze medal for the Eagles with her top-five program record time of 50.30 to pace her fellow teammates. The two other Eagles in the A Finals,
Jamison Tiller and
Carsyn Cosman, posted season-best times in the 100 Free.
The 200 Breast and Fly managed to see three Eagles place in the top-six in their respective A Finals.
Karlee Wells secured another third place finish, this time in the platform dive, with her score of 243.50. Finally, to close out the night, the 400 free relay team of Alberti, Tiller, Cosman, and Ifill swam a program second-best 3:23.51 to clinch third, falling to Marshall by just 0.03 seconds to close out their time in Orlando.Â
