Quotables
Head coach Hana Haden on the keys to the win tonight over Georgia State
"I'm really proud of our team's defensive effort tonight. We talked all week about trying to slow down Crystal Henderson, who came into this game averaging almost 17 and 5 a game, so I thought we did an incredible job on her individually. Team defense was really good. Our big things were that we wanted to take care of the ball, we know they rely on points off of turnovers, and we wanted to defend the three. We only had 12 turnovers and we held them to 2 of 22 from three."
On getting a win over the Panthers in the Eagles' Sun Belt Conference opener
"I think we all know the importance of every Sun Belt game, especially with the implications they have on the tournament. Obviously you want to get wins at home and take care of home court, obviously it's an in-state rivalry so it's always a big game and I think it's huge for our confidence going into App State on Saturday."
