STATESBORO - Georgia Southern men's basketball placed two players on the 2025 Preseason All-Sun Belt Conference team, announced today by league officials. Guard Tyren Moore was named to the First Team, while forward Nakavieon White was named to the third team.

Moore earns the first team preseason honor as the Louisville, Ky., native returns to Statesboro to play for the Eagles in 2025-26. He previously suited up for Georgia Southern in 2022-24, earning second team All-Sun Belt Conference honors in 2023-24, averaging 17.0 points and 3.0 assists per game while shooting 40.6 percent from three-point range. Moore excelled in Sun Belt action, leading hte league in points during conference games (19.2 ppg) and reached double figures 24 times, including 12 games of 20 or more points and five 30-point contests. The graduate student spent the 2024-25 campaign at UAB.

White, meanwhile, averaged 10.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game for the Eagles in 2024-25, his first season at Georgia Southern. The Odessa, Texas, native recorded double digits in 16 games and had five games of 20 or more points, scoring a season-high 25 points against William and Mary on November 17, 2024. 

This is the first time Georgia Southern has had two players on the league's preseason All-Conference squad since 2020, when Elijah McCadden and Zack Bryant were named to the second and third teams, respectively.

The Sun Belt Conference preseason poll was also released on Monday, and the Eagles were picked to finish 10th in a vote of the league's coaches.

Georgia Southern opens the 2025-26 campaign on Tuesday, November 4, traveling to East Carolina to take on the Pirates at 7 p.m. in Greenville, N.C.
