STATESBORO– The Georgia Southern track and field team finished with a team win at the Georgia Showdown on Saturday at the Track & Field Complex, finishing first among three squads.
"We had a great meet today, the ladies came ready to compete and represent Georgia Southern," head coach
David Neville said. "It was great to get the victory today at the Georgia Showdown."
GS honored eight seniors during the event:
Megan Bolton,
Lauren Euler,
Catherine Hall,
MaKenna Hillmer,
Sam Holbrook,
Na'ilah Moore,
Isabel Ptacek and
Alondra Reyna-Lopez.
Ptacek, who ran in the 800m, recorded the tenth-best time in school history in the event with a mark of 2:15.16, a shade behind event winner
Sofia Molina at 2:12.08.
Hillmer also set a PR in both the javelin and shot put, finishing with performances of 21.27m and 8.85m, respectively. Holbrook also set a PR in the shot put with a push of 10.31m, the best shot of all performers.

The Eagles return to the track at North Florida for the East Coast Relays beginning on Apr. 26.
