STATESBORO - Georgia Southern men's tennis captured its fourth straight win with a 4-0 Sun Belt Conference victory over visiting James Madison on Saturday morning at the Wallis Tennis Center.

The Eagles moved to 8-7 overall and 2-0 in the Sun Belt with the victory, while James Madison fell to 7-8 overall and 0-3 in the league. Georgia Southern returns to action on Sunday, hosting No. 49-ranked Old Dominion in a 10 a.m. matchup at Wallis.

It took a while for the match to begin as twice the Dukes and Eagles warmed up on Friday, only to have rains postpone the match until Saturday. Once play began, the Eagles were dominant in doubles, with Pol del Castillo and Dimitris Paliouras notching a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles, while Matthew Mitchell and Aaron James Williams earned a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles to clinch the doubles point.

Three straight-set singles wins then clinched the victory for Georgia Southern. Williams picked up a 6-4, 6-1 win over Francisco Sinopoli at No. 4 singles, then Paliouras claimed a 6-2, 6-2 win over Youssef Sadek at No. 1 singles. Laurent James Calac then had the clinching victory with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Edson Sanchez at No. 6 singles.

"I feel like we have some momentum," Georgia Southern head men's tennis coach Andrew Goodwin said. "I was really proud of the guys and how they responded to the change in the weather and the countless delays, but they didn't flinch and we got right back to it. I think we weren't as sharp, we saw the 13-day layoff harm us a little bit, but it was great to just work through it and get back down to what competing is all about. And now we couldn't be more excited to get a shot at Old Dominion tomorrow morning."
