Eagles wrap up Alabama weekend trip at Troy on Sunday

MOBILE, Ala. - South Alabama collected a 4-2 win over visiting Georgia Southern in Sun Belt men's tennis action on Friday in Mobile, Ala.

The Jaguars move to 9-9 on the season with the victory, while Georgia Southern falls to 9-8 on the year. The Eagles will wrap up their Alabama swing on Sunday, facing Troy at 11 a.m. ET in Troy, Ala.

The Eagles took a 1-0 lead by capturing the doubles point from South Alabama. Albert Saar and Albert Widell picked up a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles, then Gregoire Delattre and Davis Taylor clinched the point with a 7-5 win over Braden Hannig and Deren Yigin at No. 1 doubles.

The Jaguars would earn straight set singles wins at No. 5 and No. 1 singles, as well as a three-set win at No. 2 singles. Reigning Sun Belt Player of the Week Willy Mirarchi would pick up a 4-6, 6-1, 6-0 win over Harold van Raemdonck at No. 3 singles for the Eagles, but South Alabama would then clinch the victory with a straight-set win at No. 4 singles.
