Double Eagle earns the accolade for the third time in his career
STATESBORO - Georgia Southern senior Matthew Mitchell has been named to the 2026 CSC Academic All-District Men's Tennis Team, announced today by league officials.
Mitchell earns the honor for carrying a perfect 4.00 GPA in accounting, graduating from Georgia Southern this semester with his master's degree and becoming a double Eagle. The Vidalia, Ga., native previously received his bachelor's degree in accounting from Georgia Southern in 2024.
Student-athletes qualify for the CSC Academic All-District Team by carrying a cumulative 3.50 GPA or better while participating in 75% or more of the team's dates of competition during the Spring.
Mitchell has earned CSC Academic All-District honors for three straight years, becoming only the third Eagle to accomplish that feat, joining former teammates Pol del Castillo and Dimitris Paliouras.
