STATESBORO – The Georgia Southern track and field team travels back to Birmingham, Ala. for the Sun Belt Conference Championships at the Birmingham Crossplex Feb.19-20.
It's the Eagles second consecutive event at the Birmingham Crossplex as GS competed in the Samford Bulldog Invitational. Ten athletes set personal bests during the meet and NaJ Watson posted a season best for the fastest collegiate time at the meet.
Last season the Eagles finished in fifth place for its best finish since joining the league in 2015. Scovia Ayikoru won the 400 and combined with Sofia Molina, Megan Bolton, and NaJ Watson to win the 4x400 relay. The 4x400 relay team also set a meet and school record with a time of 3:42.47.
