SERIES PREVIEW: Eagles Welcome Trojans of Troy for Conference Clash

Eagles look for the first series win over Troy since 2018

STATESBORO – The Georgia Southern baseball team will play host to Sun Belt Conference foe Troy for a three-game conference series starting on Friday, May 6. First pitch for Friday's game is set for 6:30 p.m.

Georgia Southern is 10-15 all-time against Troy, and is 9-10 against the Trojans since joining the Sun Belt for the 2014-15 season. Georgia Southern is 4-3 all-time in Statesboro against Troy.

The Eagles come into the series carrying a 29-15 record (15-6 SBC). The Eagles split their midweek series against Kennesaw State, and fell in their home series against Coastal Carolina, but took the final game of both of those series. Troy comes into the match-up with a 29-14 record (13-8 SBC), winning their last five games in a row. After losing their conference series to Arkansas State, the Trojans defeated Georgia Tech on the road, swept Georgia State, and defeated Samford in midweek action.

The Eagles will be led by their usual rotation, with Ty Fisher (2-2, 3.48 ERA) being sent to the mound on Friday night, Jaylen Paden (5-1, 4.50 ERA) pitching on Saturday night, and Sunday's starter is TBD. Troy will send out Rigsby Mosley (2-0, 2.45 ERA) on Friday, Brady Fuller (4-1, 3.99 ERA) on Saturday, and TBD on Sunday.

The Eagles will take their final road trip of the regular season, first taking on Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Ga, for a midweek game, then heading to Little Rock, Ark, for the final weekend series against Little Rock as a member of the Sun Belt.
