STATESBORO – Elijah McCadden collected 12 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocked shots, and Georgia Southern held South Alabama scoreless for nearly nine minutes in the second half to earn a 62-49 Sun Belt Conference men's basketball victory over the Jaguars Saturday afternoon in Hanner Fieldhouse.

Zack Bryant tallied 12 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals, and Eric Boone posted 11 points four rebounds and two steals. Andrei Savrasov finished with nine points, seven rebounds and four blocked shots. It was McCadden's second career double-double, and both have come this season.

South Alabama (7-4, 1-1) hit three consecutive 3-pointers to erase an eight-point deficit and take a 39-38 lead, its first of the game, 5:18 into the second half. GS scored the next 11 while holding the Jags scoreless over the next 8:59 of the contest.
