
Cross Country Preview: Eagles Open Season In Macon

STATESBORO -- The Georgia Southern cross country team begins the 2020 season at the Julius Johnson Invitational Saturday at the Georgia Premier Cross-Country Course near Mercer University.
The 5k women's race will begin at 8:30 a.m. and all athletes will be COVID-19 tested ahead of time.
Six athletes will make the trip to Macon including record holding runner Merabu Nagwandala. The junior holds the Eagles' cross country record with a time of 18:13.0 set at home in 2018 in the 5K.
Joining her will be McKenzie Cromer and newcomers Emma Peluso, Makenna Kulzer, Abbey Arnet and Kate Conner.
Following the meet, the Eagles will host the GATA Classic on Sept. 25 at Seventh Mile Farm in Statesboro.
