Record-Setting Day One as Eagles Shine Across Events

ATHENS, GA. – Behind a historic, multi-event performance from freshman Madison Linscomb, the Eagles turned in a strong all-around showing, highlighted by multiple all-time marks, personal bests, and a first-place finish in the javelin.
Linscomb turned in a standout performance, etching her name into the record book in multiple events.
She opened the day by launching a 40.67m throw in the javelin, securing first place and moving up to No. 3 all-time in program history.
Linscomb carried that momentum to the track, clocking a personal-best 2:21.97 in the 800 meters to place eighth. She capped off her impressive day in the heptathlon, tallying 4,377 points to rank No. 8 all-time.
In the sprints, NaJ Watson paced the Eagles with a sixth-place finish in a highly competitive 200 meters, crossing the line in 23.33.
Alanna Smith (24.56), Emani George (25.63), Aaliyah Barnes (26.11), and Yasmine Williams (26.57) followed to round out the event.
The distance group delivered a strong showing in the 1500 meters, highlighted by veteran Tristen Crosby, who broke into the program's top 10 with a time of 4:47.97 to claim the No. 10 spot all-time.
Hannah Douglas (4:50.27) and Katie Casto (4:50.48) each recorded personal bests, finishing just behind Crosby, while Cameron Belcher (4:54.48) and Rebecca Stratton (4:57.86) added depth to the lineup.
In the 800 meters, Zya Gibbs posted a time of 2:20.61, and Jayla Daise made her debut in the event with a 2:30.77 to round out the Eagles' efforts.
